Selling Your House

A Few Little Hints . . .

  • Make the most of that first impression.  Keep a well tended yard, a freshly scubbed and clutter-free entryway and remove any obstacles to the true appeal of your home.
  • Invest a few hours to clean up the clutter inside and out.  Prospective buyers want to see the home, not your personal property.
  • After the clutter is gone, make your home sparkle.  Consider hiring a professional cleaning service if you can't complete the task.
  • Make sure things work.  Light bulbs should light up, doors should open and close and faucets shouldn't drip.
  • Think safety.  People who have never been in your home don't know the front hall rug can slip a little.  Remove all perilous booby traps.
  • Keep your pets out of the way for their safety and the safety of the stranges in your home.
  • Open the curtains in the daytime; let the sunshine in and cheer up your home.  Turn on lights in the evening to welcome prospects to your warm and cozy home.
  • Keep a low profile.  Your RE/MAX agent knows buyers and what they want.
  • Don't apologize for any shortcomings your home may have.  Let your experienced RE/MAX agent handle any derogatory comments.
  • When prospects want to talk price, terms, or other real estate matters, let them speak to an expert-your RE/MAX Sales Associate.
  • Let your RE/MAX agent schedule showings through their office.  You'll appreciate the results!
